Out of those 8 chapters, they're divided into two parts, the first four going under the common title 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni' and the final four under 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai'. The Higurashi visual novel is divided into 8 chapters, each one covering an individual time loop.
